On March 26, EMSP hosted a visit within the SALBIOFUEL project, developed by the SOL4R research unit. The visit was part of a meeting of the network of communication directors for the Portugal 2030 programs, aiming to showcase projects supported by European funds and assess the impact of this support.
The FUTURETECH_H2 project, co-funded by the European Union through the Interreg VI-A Spain–Portugal (POCTEP) 2021–2027 programme, has strengthened its role as a meeting point for advancing green hydrogen through two international webinars that brought together more than 100 participants from Spain and Portugal. Both sessions, held on March 3 and 26, confirm the growing interest of the Iberian industrial sector in this key technology for the energy transition.
The Futuretech_H2 project: Promotion and Technological Development of the Green Hydrogen Industry, co-funded by the European Union through the Interreg VI-A Spain–Portugal (POCTEP) 2021–2027 programme, has successfully concluded, fully achieving the objectives set by the consortium. The partnership included entities from the Alentejo region (Portugal) and Andalusia (Spain), such as the Advanced Center for Aerospace Technologies – CATEC, ADRAL, the Polytechnic Institute of Portalegre, the University of Évora, the Nao Victoria Foundation, and was led by the Federation of Metal Entrepreneurs, FEDEME.
On March 11, 2026, the partners of the FUTURETECH_H2 project held a meeting of the Execution and Monitoring Committee at the Sines Arts Center (Portugal). The session took place during the presence of Spanish and Portuguese partners in the town, following the 1st Spanish-Portuguese Green Hydrogen Forum, which marked the conclusion of the project's recent public activities.
The 1st Hispano-Portuguese Green Hydrogen Forum highlighted the need to strengthen demand-support mechanisms as an essential condition to boost the development of this emerging sector. The meeting, held on Tuesday, 10 March, in Sines (Portugal), within the framework of the European project FUTURETECH_H2, also emphasised the importance of Iberian cooperation to establish the Iberian Peninsula as a European reference in the production of this energy carrier.
The FUTURETECH_H2 project ends in Évora the final stop of its cross-border Roadshow, an initiative aimed at promoting knowledge, opportunities and the potential of green hydrogen within the framework of cooperation between Spain and Portugal.

The Implementation and Monitoring Committee of the Futuretech_H2 project, led by the Federation of Metal Entrepreneurs (FEDEME), held another coordination meeting. During the meeting, the most recent progress and the upcoming milestones in the development of this cross-border initiative were discussed. The project is part of the 3rd Call for Proposals of the Interreg VI-A Spain–Portugal Cross-Border Cooperation Programme (POCTEP) 2021–2027.
