The National Infrastructure for Research on Concentrated Solar Energy (INIESC), coordinated by the Renewable Energies Chair - University of Évora (CER-UÉ), in partnership with the National Energy and Geology Laboratory, IP (LNEG), is one of 56 Portuguese infrastructures that are part of the National Roadmap for Infrastructures of Strategic Interest (RNIE).
The Renewable Energies Chair - University of Évora (CER-UÉ) starts the “Mais Fotovoltaico, Mais Energia” campaign [“More Photovoltaic, More Energy” campaign] of inspection of photovoltaic systems in Portugal, on June 24.
The Renewable Energies Chair - University of Évora (CER-UÉ) is the only Portuguese entity to be part of the SolAqua project consortium (Accessible, reliable and affordable solar irrigation for Europe and beyond), focused on high-power photovoltaic irrigation with support from the Horizon 2020 programme. Solar irrigation will allow the supply of energy for irrigation with zero emissions and a cost up to 70% lower than existing fossil fuel-based solutions.
The Renewable Energies Chair of University of Évora (CER-UÉ) researcher, Maria Helena Novais, and Professor Manuela Morais, from the Department of Biology (UÉ) - Institute of Earth Sciences (ICT), are guest editors of a Special Issue of the Journal Water, dedicated to the "Inland Aquatic Ecosystems and Conservation".
The citizen science application Generation Solar developed under the GRECO - Fostering a New Generation of European Photovoltaic Society through Open Science project, is now available on the App Store.
The first newsletter of the POCITYF project is out. POCITYF – A POsitive Energy CITY Transformation Framework is a smart-cities project, with EU funding, through the Horizon 2020 program (grant nr. 864400), which started seven months ago, with 46 partners from 13 countries gathered in Évora to kick-off the project.
The first meeting of associated partners of the EERES4WATER project took place remotely, through digital platforms, and served to present the technical progress during the first year of execution.
Today, International Sun Day, the Renewable Energies Chair at University of Évora starts its presence on the social network Linkedin. This date, designated to promote solar energy, is important for a research center that has as its mission the development of technological solutions and applications of solar energy for the decarbonization of different sectors of the economy in a context of energy transition.
The POCITYF (POsitive Energy CITY Transformation Framework) project offers a new video with the main strategic lines of action to make historic cities greener, smarter, and more liveable.
The digital app of citizen science "Generation Solar", developed by the GRECO project and publicly released on April 22, World Earth Day, aims to be a unique combination of information for scientific research, support for information technologies and citizen involvement in a research network.
