International Networks

The Renewable Energies Chair is a member of the main European networks of R&D in solar energy:

EERA 2

EERA - European Energy Research Alliance

EERA is an associative, non-profit structure that constitutes the largest research community in the field of energy in Europe. It brings together 250 universities and research centers from 30 countries. Joint research programs cover the entire spectrum of low carbon technologies.

EERA JP CSP

EERA JP-CSP - Joint Programme Concentrated Solar Power

CSP/STE can make a significant contribution to the transformation of the European energy system but still need an intense research effort. This JP currently involves 15 full participants plus 11 associated participants during the 4-year project (2018-2021). Some of the partner institutions concentrate the large majority of existing large-scale R&D facilities for CSP in Europe, most of these included at the ‘Transnational Access Activity’ SFERA-III, and is structured in six sub-programmes.

EU SOLARIS

EU-SOLARIS - European Solar Thermal Research Infrastructure for Concentrated Solar Power

EU-SOLARIS aims to contribute to an effective coordination of research and technology development (R&D) capabilities and efforts in Concentrating Solar Thermal (CST) technologies by the European Research Centres, along with those from the neighboring countries, in order to foster the technological development of the industry. The consortium is composed of 15 partners that develop research on technologies and applications in the field of solar thermal research.

IEA/SHC – Task 62 | Solar Energy in Industrial Water & Wastewater

An important field of application of solar energy is the field of water treatment technologies, and the importance of the NEXUS Water-Energy has been recently underlined. The Task 62 will develop and provide the most suitable and accurate information on the technical and economical possibilities for effectively applying solar thermal energy and solar radiation to disinfect, decontaminate and separate industrial process water and waste water.
