As part of the FUTURETECH-H2 project, co-financed by the European Union through the Interreg VI-A Spain-Portugal (POCTEP) 2021-2027 Programme, the Portuguese town of Barrancos hosted two important events on June 23 and 24, reflecting the consortium’s commitment to developing innovation, training, and cross-border cooperation initiatives around green hydrogen.
The FUTURETECH H2 project, part of a co-financed collaboration under the Interreg VI-A Spain-Portugal (POCTEP) 2021–2027 programme and led by the Federation of Metal Entrepreneurs (FEDEME), focuses on technological development and training within the green hydrogen industry. As part of this ambitious initiative, IDEA Ingeniería has developed a next-generation Digital Twin, an advanced simulator that marks a decisive step for the industry, enabling immersive training and process optimization in a safe, virtual environment.

The Renewable Energy Chair of the University of Évora, represented by researcher José Silva, attended the technical meeting of the AGROVOLTEP project, that took place on March 11 and 12, 2025, in Arroyo de la Luz, Spain. The event brought together various project partners to review the activities carried out so far and plan the next steps of the project.
On March 21, the National Meeting of Agrivoltaic Projects was held at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon (FCUL), bringing together ongoing projects in this field in Portugal. The initiative allowed for the sharing of experiences and discussions on future collaborations in a sector that combines agricultural production with solar energy generation.
