As part of the FUTURETECH-H2 project, co-financed by the European Union through the Interreg VI-A Spain-Portugal (POCTEP) 2021-2027 Programme, the Portuguese town of Barrancos hosted two important events on June 23 and 24, reflecting the consortium’s commitment to developing innovation, training, and cross-border cooperation initiatives around green hydrogen.
On June 23, the project’s Executive Committee meeting was held with the participation of representatives from the different project partners. The aim was to closely monitor the implementation status and plan the next steps leading into the final phase of the initiative.
The session reviewed progress in the project's key activities, including specialized green hydrogen training, the design and organization of outreach events such as the cross-border Roadshow and the Hispano-Lusitanian Forum, as well as communication and results transfer actions.
Training Programme – Exchange of Experiences – June 24, 2025The following day, June 24, Barrancos also hosted an enriching exchange session between students who have participated in the different training pathways developed by the project in both Spain and Portugal.
The activity brought together students from both technical and non-technical backgrounds to share learning, perspectives, and best practices in the field of green hydrogen — a rapidly growing sector offering professional and economic development opportunities on both sides of the border.
This meeting not only strengthened ties among participants but also highlighted the project's positive impact in terms of training, the creation of collaborative networks, and the promotion of mutual knowledge between neighboring territories.
The project is co-financed by the European Union through the Interreg VI-A Spain-Portugal (POCTEP) 2021-2027 Programme and will run until December 31, 2025.
Futuretech-H2 has a total budget of €1,366,564.90.
