On March 21, the National Meeting of Agrivoltaic Projects was held at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon (FCUL), bringing together ongoing projects in this field in Portugal. The initiative allowed for the sharing of experiences and discussions on future collaborations in a sector that combines agricultural production with solar energy generation.
Among the projects presented was Agrovoltep, introduced by researcher José Silva from de Renewable Energies Chair of the University of Évora. The Horta Solar of FCUL, the host project of the event, was highlighted by Professor Miguel Brito. Other innovative projects were also showcased, such as the Vinha Solar from the Lisbon Agronomy Institute, Agriflex from the Coimbra School of Agronomy, and the Mirtilos Solares promoted by CCDR-Centro. These initiatives illustrate the diversity of agrivoltaic approaches in Portugal.
The meeting provided attendees with an opportunity to learn about the variety of agrivoltaic projects in the country, share experiences, and explore future collaborations in this rapidly evolving field. Participants also emphasized the importance of continuing to foster research and cooperation in this domain.
