New website
ALFR-Alentejo project is online

The ALFR-Alentejo project (Installation, testing and analysis of an Advanced Linear Fresnel Reflector concentrator to produce electricity by means of solar thermal with thermal storage) has a new website, available at www.alfr-alentejo.uevora.pt.

On this website, it is possible to access information on strategic, general, and specific objectives, the work plan and expected results, as well as topics on the geographical framework of this operation and links to financing entities.

The ALFR-Alentejo project is promoted by the Renewable Energies Chair – University of Évora (CER-UÉ, Portuguese acronym), with the support of the Alentejo 2020 programme (SAICT-45-2018-02, contract nº 039487), and aims at installation, testing and analysis of an Advanced Linear Fresnel Reflector (ALFR) concentrator for the production of electricity by means of solar thermal with thermal storage.

This project, which started on December 16, 2019 and is expected to last for three years until December 2022, will be implemented on the EMSP (Évora Molten Salt Platform) and PECS (Solar Concentrator Testing Platform) platforms, at Herdade da Mitra (University of Évora), which are part of INIESC (National Research Infrastructure on Solar Energy Concentration).
