Previous experience in industrial manufacturing as a product development engineer. He is currently working at Evora Molten Salt Platform on storing thermal energy in molten salts (NEWSOL project).

Aveiro) with over 15 years of experience in the solar sector, having performed several roles in the production, certification and testing of photovoltaic modules, in a multinational environment, currently part of the O&M team of the HPS2 solar concentration project.

Research Grant holder at the Renewable Energies Chair (CER), MSc in Architecture (U. Évora). Experience in modular and prefabricated architecture. Involved in INIESC Infrastructure, development of “isolated residential community” project, through the application of thermal and/or solar conversion technologies and simulation of energy behavior of buildings (thermal and electrical) in EnergyPlus.

Manuel Collares-Pereira

 

Manuel Collares Pereira

 

Ph.D. Physics in Non Imaging Optics (University of Chicago), former Chairman of the Renewable Energies Chair. Author of many papers in Non-Imaging Optics, applied to Solar Energy Concentration for heating and cooling, industrial process heat, solar electricity production and other applications as in water treatment, solar cooking and solar drying. Author also of many contributions to solar radiation statistics and solar systems modelling.

PhD in Biology (U. Évora), post-graduate in Conservation and rehabilitation of inland waters, and graduated in Biology. She is currently a postdoctoral fellow at the Renewable Energies Chair, being involved in evaluating the performance of solar photoreactors for decontamination (especially drugs) and domestic wastewater disinfection, in the Eeres4Water and SFERAIII projects.
